This is part of a series of profiles of new UC Merced Bobcats enrolled for the fall 2025 semester.
Trinity King is coming to UC Merced with dreams of shining both as a performer and in the health care world. She’s excited to blend her love for dance with her academic journey as a public health major, believing that both experiences at UC Merced will bring her closer to her goals.
Where I come from: I’m from Hayward. I attended Mount Eden High School.
What I have done: I made honor roll for most, if not all, of my four years in high school. I participated in dance class from freshman to senior year. I was also on our school’s dance team, called Stage Left, for three years.
Why are you excited about coming to UC Merced? Attending UC Merced excites me because I will be on the UC Merced dance team. Experiencing and living in a college environment where I get to unveil more about myself is so exciting. My hope is that I will advance as a dancer in my technique and performance capabilities to continue dancing at the college level. My goal is to dance professionally as an NFL cheerleader. Being on the dance team will also help me build relationships with my teammates, put myself out there to make friends with other students on campus and have something to work for throughout the school year.
Academic and personal goals: I will be majoring in public health, and hopefully minor in business. I hope to receive all A’s and take full advantage of my educational opportunities. My goal is to become a licensed RN and travel for a few years to save money while simultaneously receiving my credentials in aesthetics. When the time is right, I will open my own fully women-operated medical spa.
It's karaoke night. What's your go-to song? My go-to song is “Love” by Keyshia Cole.
If your life had a theme song right now, what would it be? A theme song for my life would be “As” by Stevie Wonder
What do you envision for your first year at UC Merced? My goal for my first year at UC Merced is to build many genuine connections and to try not to eat ice cream every day. Yes, I do actually eat ice cream every day.
What’s a tradition or value that’s important to you? A value that’s important to me is to always maintain and nourish relationships. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my friends and family as my support system.
