For the past three years, members of the UC Merced community and friends have made the Tuesday after Thanksgiving a showstopper for our campus.
Give Tue UC Merced (#GiveTueUCM), the annual 24-hour campaign to rally financial support around campus initiatives, has made a big impact over the years. To date, nearly 1,300 individuals have contributed over $1 million — with generous matching funds from Foster Poultry Farms and Wells Fargo — during the campus’s three previous single-day campaigns.
This year, organizers are aiming to top 1,000 donors in a day.
“When it comes to supporting our students, no gift is too small,” Associate Chancellor Ed Klotzbier said. “This is a chance for all UC Merced students, staff, faculty, alumni, family and friends to come together and make a tremendous impact on our campus in a single day.”

UC Merced has gained national recognition for its support of first-generation and underrepresented students, and 90 percent of current students receive some form of financial assistance.
This year, #GiveTueUCM participants can allocate their donations to the UC Merced Fund, or directly to one of several other areas: Scholarships, Fellowships, Student Success, Academics and Research, and Athletics. Thanks to the continued support of Foster Poultry Farms, donations for scholarships will be matched 3-to-1 while funds last.
The event kicks off at midnight EST Tuesday, Nov. 28, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST. As in years past, there will be an on-campus giving headquarters — GIVE TUE HQ — for those who want to make their donation in person.
