The Hmong Student Association at UC Merced will host its eighth annual educational conference themed, “Hmoob Mekas - Our Next Generation,” on Nov. 15.
The one-day conference will focus on Hmong culture, education and identity. Local high school students will have the opportunity to attend eight different workshops ranging from admissions requirements to extracurricular activities. The goal of the event is to prepare the students for college and encourage them to attend a four-year university.
