Do you know a staff member who goes above and beyond to get the job done, provides great customer service or makes a difference in the greater Merced community? If so, consider nominating them for a 2018 Staff Citation of Excellence Award.
UC Merced’s Staff Assembly is now accepting online nominations for the annual staff awards that celebrate outstanding achievements and meritorious service of up to six individuals. Each recipient receives a crystal award and $500 that will be presented at the fall semester Staff Convocation.
All nominations must include a Statement of Nomination and a Statement of Endorsement . Submissions without both statements will not be considered. The submission deadline for all materials is 5 p.m. Friday, April 20, with no exceptions. Nominators and endorsers need to take note of word count limits for each form.
All nominees must have completed a minimum of one year of employment at UC Merced by April 20, 2018. Both policy-covered and represented staff are eligible to be nominated, but only represented staff who are career CX unit employees are eligible to receive the cash award.
An award will be given to one individual in each of the following six categories:
- Outstanding Customer Service and Job Performance
- Creativity
- Teamwork
- Organizational/Leadership Abilities
- Community Involvement and Public Service
- Manager
Individuals may be nominated for more than one award category, but no one can win more than one award in the same year. Additionally, previous Staff Excellence Award winners can be nominated, but there are some restrictions. Nominees are ineligible if they’ve received an award in the same category in the past three years. For example, a staff member who received a Teamwork award in 2016 can’t be nominated in that category again until 2020. However, they can be nominated for any other category.
