Professor Jessica Blois is the new faculty director of UC Merced’s Natural Reserve System (NRS) holdings. Jessica, an associate professor in Life and Environmental Sciences, recently received an NSF CAREER award for her work in paleoecology.
As a former member of the UC Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve faculty advisory committee, Jessica is familiar with the system properties. In this new role, she will oversee the Sierra Nevada Field Station and the Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve. She will help the campus develop a long-range vision for both these and potential future NRS holdings. She will also supervise the campus NRS staff and manage the NRS budget.
