Chancellor Dorothy Leland will be the first speaker in a new series, “Women We Admire,” which features women who work on campus.
The series, presented by The Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CACSW), is modeled after a similar program hosted by the UC Office of the President.
Leland’s talk will be focused on her professional experiences, challenges and pursuit of work-life balance. She’ll take questions at the end of the session. CACSW Staff Co-Chair Jennifer Quiralte hopes all staff, students and faculty members consider attending the lunchtime event on Thursday, Sept. 21.
“This is an opportunity to hear about shared experiences and to learn how UC Merced professionals came into their leadership roles,” she said. “We want to foster an environment that allows the entire university community to learn from these women and their journeys.”
The event takes place from noon to 1 p.m. in the Yablokoff-Wallace Dining Center’s Garden Dining Room. Please RSVP at ucmcacsw@ucmerced.edu by Sept. 19. Space is limited. The next Women We Admire speaker event will be in the spring; details will be provided at a later date.
