
President Jimmy Carter will visit the University of California, Merced, campus today (May 3) to deliver the keynote address at a National Parks Instituteseminar on the management of parks and protected lands and receive the 2010 Alice and Clifford Spendlove Prize in Social Justice, Diplomacy and Tolerance.
Both events are by invitation only.
Members of the media are welcome to come to campus; however, only the three media outlets who have been notified by the Office of Communications will be able to gain entrance to the Spendlove Prize event.
Special accommodations have been made to make the entire program available live via webcast at www.ucmerced.edu/spendloveprize, beginning at approximately 3:40 p.m. There is also limited seating in the Bobcat Lair (KL 169) on campus.
