Dear Campus Community,

UC Merced is committed to stopping, preventing and remedying sexual violence and harassment, as well as interpersonal violence and gender-based discrimination through education, culture change, accountability and empowerment.

We offer options and resources to all students, faculty and staff affected by these issues and are committed to providing a fair, thorough, and prompt investigation and adjudication process. Please contact UC Merced’s Title IX Officer Michael Salvador at 209-285-9510 or msalvador2@ucmerced.edu if you would like to file a complaint or obtain more information.

The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination website also provides helpful information and links to various campus resources.

If you need to talk to someone about what happened to you but are not ready to issue a formal report, you can contact the Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education (CARE) Office. Our confidential CARE advocates assist faculty, staff and students who have experienced sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. The campus advocate can provide you with emotional support and explain your reporting options. If you choose to report, they can accompany you through the process. You can reach the campus advocate Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm at 209-386-2051.

Below are additional confidential resources available to you:

  • Valley Crisis Center provides after-hours and weekend support through their 24-Hour Hotline: 209-722-4357
  • Counseling and Psychological Services provides emotional and mental health support through licensed counselors: 209-228-4266
  • Office of the Ombuds is a neutral and informal problem-solving and conflict management resource: 209-228-4410

Please reach out to your campus resources and help us maintain a safe environment for everyone at UC Merced.
