Dear Campus Community, Diversity and excellence have long been aspirational goals of the UC Merced campus. Therefore, after an extended period of campus input and review, I am pleased to issue the campus’s official diversity statement , which reflects and articulates these commitments. Many thanks to each of you who contributed to the crafting of this statement. I am equally pleased to announce that Dania Matos, UC Merced’s first chief diversity officer, has arrived on campus. As a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, she will work to build infrastructure, accountability and additional resources to support a diverse, equitable and inclusive campus. I am confident that you will welcome Associate Chancellor Matos in true Bobcat fashion and work alongside her to enhance efforts to create a diverse and vibrant campus community. This is not the sole work of a single person or office but remains the shared responsibility of all. You can reach Associate Chancellor Matos at dmatos@ucmerced.edu . Dorothy Leland Chancellor |
