2019 Management Skills Assessment Program (MSAP) Application Period Open

December 5, 2018

Dear Colleagues,

The Management Skills Assessment Program (MSAP) is currently accepting applications for MSAP – spring and fall 2019 cohorts.

MSAP assesses the management skills of high potential, early career supervisors, managers, and professionals for future leadership opportunities at the University of California. It is strongly recommended that department heads discuss the program with supervisors, managers, and professionals who exhibit potential for management development and encourage them to apply.

MSAP includes participants from the entire UC system – making it an attractive networking event at the UCLA Conference Center in Lake Arrowhead. Interested staff and faculty members are encouraged to complete the MSAP assessee application . Further program and competencies information can be found here.

MSAP offers two opportunities to participate:

1. Participate as an assessee — MSAP assesses the management skills of high potential, early career supervisors, managers, and professionals for future leadership opportunities at the University of California.

2. Participate as an assessor — Assessors are trained to offer feedback about assessee strengths and development areas. They are experienced managers who have coaching experience, employee development experience, and experience leading or working with groups.

Program Dates

MSAP is offered twice each year, once in the spring and again in the fall. The 2019 program dates are:

· April 8 – 11

· October 14-17

Program Cost

The cost of the program is $1,350 (including all program materials, room and board for three days and two nights for assesssees). This fee does not include transportation or other related travel costs.

Deadlines to Apply

Completed spring and fall 2019 applications must be submitted online by noon Friday, January 11, 2019.

Important note: The MSAP Application system will send an e-mail to the applicant’s supervisor requesting him/her to complete a supervisor statement supporting the MSAP application.

Should you have any questions about this program, please send an email to Yazi Navarro, UCM MSAP Coordinator.

Kindest regards,

Human Resources
